Extractions

What is a tooth extraction?

An extraction is the removal of a tooth. It is a relatively quick outpatient procedure with either local, general, intravenous anesthesia, or a combination. Removing visible teeth is a simple extraction. Teeth that are broken, below the surface of the gum, or impacted in bone require a more involved procedure.

Why would I need a tooth removed?

While many teens and some adults get their wisdom teeth removed, other reasons may include excessive tooth decay, tooth infection and crowding.
